Ringotel users can securely sign into the softphone app using their Microsoft account through Single Sign-On (SSO) Authentication. This simplifies the process by allowing users to authenticate with their existing corporate credentials, eliminating the need for separate passwords. It also streamlines onboarding for large teams and enables IT administrators to enforce centralised multi-factor authentication (MFA) policies.
How does it work?
The SSO integration can be enabled like any other integration on the organisation level.
Once the integration is configured, the welcome email will include updated instrictions. The QR code will also automatically navigate users to the connected service for authentication. Also, the softphone's login screen will include the SSO authentication option:
How to enable SSO via Microsoft for users?
Note:
Users need to have an email address associated with their Microsoft account specified in their Ringotel user profile settings.
To enable SSO via Microsoft for users, please navigate to your Ringotel admin portal, select the organisation where you would like to enable SSO log in, and navigate to the Integrations tab. From there, scroll down to the Single Sign-On section or enter "SSO" in the search field:
Click on the Enable Integration button on the "Microsoft" card and in the integration settings, click "Save & Continue":
Next, on the Microsoft Authentication page, login with your Microsoft administrator account.
Once you complete the authentication process, you should be redirected to your Ringotel admin portal integrations page, and see the Microsoft SSO integration among the enabled integrations.
Users can now sign in into the softphone app using their Microsoft account.
Note:
If a Microsoft account (email address) used to sign into the softphone app is linked to multiple users within the same organisation, the user will be logged into the first randomly selected account with that email address.
