Netsapiens

Enable SMS and MMS messaging, as well as DID and contact synchronization via Netsapiens for softphone users.

Written by Alex Brainin

Netsapiens is a B2B provider of Unified Communications,Video Conferencing & Collaboration, as well as Contact Center solutions for service providers.

Note:

Netsapiens integration is part of the Pro package. Upgrading an organization to Pro pricing is required to enable this feature.

Enabling SMS/MMS service via the Netsapiens integration

  1. Go to the Connection → Features, then select the option "Enable SMS via integrations" and click "Save changes".

Enabling the integration

Navigate to your organization → Integrations tab. Search for “Netsapiens” in the “Other” section, and click Enable Integration button on the integration panel.

To set up the Netsapiens integration, you need to specify the NS server address, NS tenant domain, and API V2 key in the corresponding fields. For example:

Server: core1-atl.example.net

Domain: ringotel.nlv.uc

API key: <Netsapiens API V2 key>

Note:

You don't need to specify the webhook URL as it will be set automatically via the API during the setup process if the provided integration details are correct.

Click Save & Continue.

Enabling contacts and Phone number (DIDs) synchronization

In addition to SMS and MMS, Netsapiens integration allows you to synchronise contacts and phone numbers (DIDs) between Ringotel and your Netsapiens platform.

To enable contact syncing, check the “Sync contacts with Netsapiens” permission. For phone numbers (DIDs) syncing, check “Sync Phone numbers (DIDs) from Netsapiens”.

Accessing Netsapiens contacts via the Ringotel app

Once you enable the Netsapiens integration and grant the necessary permissions users can log into their Ringotel app. From there, navigate to the “Contacts” tab and click on “Netsapiens” to access shared contacts from their Netsapiens domain.

Users can also create new contacts through the Ringotel app and they’ll automatically sync with their Netsapiens accounts.

Selecting a Phone number (DID) on outgoing calls

Once you enable the Netsapiens integration and grant the necessary permissions users can select their outgoing number (DID) when making calls through the Ringotel app. Simply initiate an outgoing call using the Keypad or from a contact session/profile and choose a DID number from the provided list of phone numbers (provided the user has the list associated with their Netsapiens domain).

If you’d like to automatically make follow-up calls to this number using the selected DID, check the “Remember route for number” option.

Note:

When you make a call through an existing session with a contact, Ringotel will automatically save the last used outgoing number. To select a different phone number, right-click on the call button (“phone” icon) and choose “Dial as”.

Troubleshooting

CLI nunber is not updated once the phone number is selected during the call

As a first step, make sure you have checked the relevant permission in the Netsapiens integration settings:

Next, please check that your Ringotel user settings has extension number specified without device prefix letter, e.g. "6001" instead of "6001r":
