Creating a Client app and getting the Client Id, Client Secret and Organization Id

Navigate to the Zoho API Console site (default URL is https://api-console.zoho.com), and the Click on Get Started if you have no existing clients or Add Client if you already have one.

Note:

Zoho API Console domain changes based on your Zoho domain. For example, for zoho.eu it would be https://api-console.zoho.eu, for http://zoho.com.au it would be https://api-console.zoho.com.au

Select the "Mobile based applications" client type and click Create Now.

Give your client the name and Homepage URL (can be anything).

The redirect URL by default should be the following: https://shell.ringotel.co/services/Bigin

Note:

If you are using a custom Ringotel portal your redirect URL should look like https:/your_custom_portal/services/Bigin

Once done, please click Create.

After that please navigate to the Settings tab of the newly created Client and enable the client for the zoho domain your are using or enable it for all domains.

After that please navigate to the Client Secret tab and save the Client ID and Client Secret you see there:

This should wrap up the setup on the Zoho side, the rest is done in the Ringotel Shell Portal.

Setting up the integration in Ringotel shell portal

Sign in to your Ringotel Shell admin portal and navigate to your Organization > Integrations tab and click on the Bigin card.

Click “Enable Integration” in the Bigin integration and specify in the Zoho domain field enter the base Zoho domain where your Zoho account is created (e.g., http://zoho.com , zoho.eu, zoho.com.au, zoho.in, zoho.com.cn, or zoho.jp, http://zohocloud.ca ).

Important:

Please specify the domain name in lowercase.

After that please specify your Organization ID.

Please input only the org id, no slashes, org in lowercase.

Then, please specify the Client ID and Client Secret for the client App you have created and Click Save & Continue.

If the data provided is correct, you will then be redirected to the CRM webpage for authentication, after which the user will be prompted to give access to the client app you have created:

In the Ringotel Shell portal, map your Bigin users with the Ringotel users.

Click Save changes. Now the integration should be configured for the mapped users.
