"Could Not Start Java VM" error when launching app on Windows

Written by Alex Brainin

If you launch Ringotel app on Windows and got the "Could Not Start Java VM" error when trying to open it, please reinstall the app using this link: https://apps.ringotel.co/Ringotel/Windows32

Note:

For white-label customers, please use your custom Windows app download link and add "32" to the end. This should point to your branded 32-bit Windows app.

If you need further assistance, please reach out to our support team.

If reinstalling the app using the 32-bit version doesn't fix the issue

If after re-installing the app using the 32-bit version the issue persists and the app is still not launching, please perform a clean install using our debug version.

Here are the quick steps:

  1. Download & Install: Grab the installation file here: https://apps.ringotel.co/Ringotel/debug/Windows and perform a clean install.

  2. Run Debug: Navigate to C:\Program Files\Ringotel and launch debug.bat.

  3. Send us the results:
A screenshot of the Command Prompt (cmd) window that pops up.
The jvm_log.txt file, which will be generated in C:\Program Files\Ringotel\log.

Once you send those over, we'll dive right into the logs to see what's going on.
