Before you start
The user can only be recovered if they were deleted within the last 24 hours.
If a user with the same PBX extension number already exists (e.g. a deactivated extension) in the same organisation, you must delete that conflicting user first before recovering.
How to recover a deleted user
Step 1: Open the Quick Action menu
In the Ringotel admin portal, open the Quick Action menu (keyboard shortcut: ⇧ + A) and select Recover deleted user (option 5).
Tip:
You can use the keyboard to select the desired quick action. For example: press Shift + A, then press "5" on the keyboard to select the user recovery option.
Step 2: Select the organisation
In the dialog that appears, type the name of the organisation the user belonged to and select it from the dropdown list.
Step 3: Enter the user's details
Fill in the Recover user form with the user's original details:
Field | Description |
Display name (required) | The user's full name, visible to all team members. E.g. "Jonny Doe" |
User email | The user's email address |
PBX extension (required) | The extension number configured on your PBX. E.g. "1001" |
SIP password | The SIP password configured on your PBX for this extension |
SIP username | If different from the PBX extension. E.g. "user1001" |
SIP authorization name | If different from the SIP username. E.g. "user1001" |
Click Save & Recover when done.
Troubleshooting
"User not found" error
No users with the specified extension number have been deleted, or the 24-hour recovery period has expired.
"Remove current user first" error
Another user (e.g. a deactivated extension) is using the same PBX extension number. Delete that user first, then retry the recovery.
Can the user be recovered after the 24-hour recovery period has expired?
The user cannot be restored through the administrative portal after the 24-hour recovery period has expired, but there may still be a chance to restore the user. In this case, please contact Ringotel support for assistance.
