Why do you need to switch?
As you may know, Bandwidth is switching to a new authentication method as of December 2026 so the API User Credentials used before will no longer be valid, We are switching our Bandwidth SMS and Bandwidth RCS integrations to the new authentication method to support this transition.
What do you need to do?
To ensure your SMS integrations continue working, please ensure that you have switched to the new Bandwidth SMS/RCS integration and move your SMS numbers to it before the mentioned deadline.
To assist you with this transition, we implemented SMS number transfer feature that allows you to seamlessly move your SMS numbers between the SMS integrations (providers).
To make the transition now, please do the following steps in your Ringotel admin portal:
Enable new Bandwidth (OAuth2) or Bandwidth RCS (OAuth2) SMS integrations. Full steps on how to create new Bandwidth API Credentials can be found here: Credential Management | Bandwidth API Docs
Transfer your existing SMS numbers into the new integration. For complete steps, please refer to our help center article.
Complete steps 1 and 2 for all your Ringotel organisations that are using the integration. To automate this process, you can use Admin API.
